A gammy neck is a well known condition caused by overuse of the iPad, I had it but it seems to have gone, maybe my neck has disfigured itself to accommodate my addiction. :)
It could be any sort of repetitive strain injury if you are dabbering a lot - I get the same from knitting.

Thanks guys, do a lot of knitting without causing aches, different action though
Excuse me Mags,
Rocky, would you describe that as shooting pains in your neck?
I used to suffer with chest muscle pains, too, when I did a lot of needlepoint - it's how you hold your arms. Who said that craft work was fun?!
Not really a shooting pain Scorpio more like a burning pain, it seems to be better if I relax my shoulders whilst typing and trying to move my eyes rather than my neck. Typing with both hand helps too.
Thank you :)
