I am thinking of buying one of these for the kitchen but I am worried that its aerial won't be man enough to receive a good signal. At present I have Freesat but the decoder is dying slowly and if I replace it the TV will probably join its ancestors the following week. Does anyone have any experience of these small TV's and are there any to be recommended/avoided? Thanks in advance

You must have eyes like a Hawk for wanting a TV that small !
Is it a lack of space ?
Unless you connect it to your Satellite Dish (Freesat), then you will need a TV with In built Freeview. You will also need a good Indoor Aerial if you are in a decent reception Area.
Many many years ago, I had a Sinclair pocket TV (those were the days!) - it was almost impossible to view a programme unless you were holding the thing. I wouldn't buy another one, you might as well get a tablet computer and show your programmes on that.
Palm size tv = get yourself a 10 inch tablet and watch tv via TVCatchup or similar via your wireless connection.
^ Or iPayer, 4oD etc. etc.
Have you thought of getting a 7 inch tablet instead. If you download the CatchUp TV app. you can watch live TV via your router. I use this app all the time on my Samsung Tablet and its perfect. A full size Tablet would be even better.
