What do you think about exorcism? Do you believe performing exorcism is evil?
Do you think it's a form of voodoo or witchcraft?

@ Society OK. Exorcism is exorcism though, it seems to me - comes from the same belief, that is a malign influence caused by demonic possession. I regard that notion as both primitive and potentially dangerous, in that it could lead to villification of the individual in question, or perhaps insufficient or timely medical/psychiatric care. As far as I am...

I have no need to google. I am aware of what exorcism is!
My point is that many people have become so enarmoured of spiritism and demonism that they find themselves turning to exorcists to extricate themselves from dangerous situations.
Jomiflo@
They cannot find the meaning of life and look to all kinds of variations in order to find excitement, often tragically.
Oh Come on GoodLife - show some spunk !

The two references are:
Mark, 5:9, describes the following in the country of the Gadarenes:
And He (Jesus) asked him (the man), "What is thy name?" And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion: for we are many."
Luke 8:30, describes the following in the country of the Gadarenes:
And Jesus asked him, saying, "What is thy name?" And he said, "Legion": because many devils were entered into him.

So you Know it is true. and it cant be evil as Jesus did it.
Clearly we have caught you on an off day

GL ../they find themselves turning to exorcists to extricate themselves from dangerous situations. /
The main danger being losing the contents of their wallet.
No of course I don't ! More superstitious nonsense ! You would never think its the 21st century sometimes. I'm with trt here !
By the way GL, I forgot to mention....There is no meaning to life, anybody that tells you otherwise is either a charlatan or an idiot.
the act of chanting and praying may in itself be physically harmless nonsense, but the the fact that they are doing it at all is where the harm lies!

the lies, the mumbo jumbo, the worry, the heartache, the psychological trauma - the whole thing is very harmful to the individuals it happens to - and to the over zealous idiots who become brainwashed and obsessed with believed other people are possessed and that they must fix it.

as with anything to do with religion, there is always a much deeper price to pay in the long run, than the apparently harmless surface stuff, like singing hymns etc
//The main danger being losing the contents of their wallet. //

.... the minds already having been extricated.
// my point is that many people have become so enarmoured of spiritism and
demonism that they find themselves turning to exorcists to extricate themselves from dangerous situations. \\
Once again goodlife plucks a "fact" from thin air without a shred of evidence.
The only demons and spirits are in weak-minded peoples heads. They should grow up and move on....its the bl**dy 21st century, not the middle ages ! What next....burning witches at the stake again ?

Daft nonsense !
In this context I wonder what Goodlife deems a ‘dangerous situation’?
Goodlife?
Exorcism is a vile concept and an even more vile practice. It is evil because the application of it often involves the humiliation and/or torture of the person apparently afflicted with the ailment of "possession". The very idea of such a thing assumes the literal existence of demons and Satan - neither of which are supported by rational and logical reasoning nor by empirical evidence and which therefore only exist in the minds of people who believe in Abrahamic gods.
Goodlife - "... Naomi@ I have no need to google [about what exorcism is]..."

Naomi's comment is reasonable and apposite. The fact is that you're largely incapable of "googling" anything that doesn't fully support your already hopelessly blinkered view of the physical world that you demonstrably inhabit. Despite the fact that you have at your fingertips the greatest repository of human knowledge ever known, you seem to be blissfully and wilfully ignorant not only of your own scripture but also of the concept of what constitutes a logical progression.
