anti freeze

anti freeze is coming out of my engine on my ford focus it isn`t through loose pipes. out of the engine block itself. any ideas how to fix the problem myself. many thanks

I doubt it's the block itself, probably a gasket. Can you see if it's emerging from where the head joins the block, if so it's the head gasket.

there is a small chance it could be coming out of the engine.


core plugs...... round metal discs that are fitted in the engine block. they can rust away and cause a leak or they can be pushed out by pressure from a freeze up.


some are easy to replace, others difficult due to where they are located.

where bout is it coming from? near a pipe etc?waterpumps are common with focus!!!!!!!
Only ever known core plugs to burst and not leak - make sure its not leaking from expansion tank or water pump and falling down side of block.
