There is a piece of music I am trying to find, it is very dramatic and you hear it on TV and I think it was once the start of a current affairs programme in the 1960s, it starts with one note of violins and the same note is rhythmically played over and over almost sounding like morse code or something ... help !! It is a famous composer but I just can't find it and don't know what it is called.

Is it Beethoven's Fifth? The BBC played it during the war due to its opening being the morse code for V (for Victory) dot dot dot dash.
There was a politics show in the 60's called This Week, the theme music was the Korelia Suite by Sibelius ( probably spelt wrong)
Do let us know when you find out what it is.
Karelia Suite by Sibelius ...

I think it might be Mozart: A Musical Joke K522.

Don't know about any T.V. show though.
You are clever Ellipsis, I can't do those link things.
You provided the memory, that's the main thing ...
