Just came past Crewe rail station and half the roof came flying over the top of my car, just missed me, it's getting very, very windy out there so go steady folks.
Just watching the news and they were at Crewe Station ferret. Its howling down the chimney at the moment but at least we've had no damage yet,it's just getting on my nerves
Awful in Manchester too, was on a bus which was rocking in the wind, was so glad to be out of it, one fence panel down already and no sign of it calming down yet. Stay safe all.
Still trying to fathom why the media but Sky News in particular are making their journalists (even the News anchor guy) present their reports whilst outdoors in the teeth of it. Dafuq is that about?
Why risk life and limb? Unless it's an emergency situation, STAY INDOORS, we don't need to see reporters fighting to stay upright, we KNOW how bad it is!
Never known it so windy here. Loads of roads closed due to flooding and trees down (a bit in the sticks here), even diversions are getting closed now. Lots of schools closed early too. Hoping boy#1's school is shut tomorrow - 10 miles away across B and C roads.
Just looked at BBC weather and it looks like it'll be Saturday for us - it says wind speed will be up to 22 then; at the moment it's around 16 apparently but I have only just heard my first wind howl.
Nearly blown off my feet trying to put refuse and recycling bins out Goodness knows where they will be by morning.
Before anyone asks, no, I have nowhere to store said stuff for another fortnight.
