I'm using a samsung Galaxy S mobile android version 2.2.1. It crashed recently and I restored it back to factory settings.
Now I'm thinking the android OS should be updated but wondering if I'm gojng to have to restore apps etc again? I keep a fairly regular backup of contacts, music, pictures etc using Samsung Kies but reinstalling the apps is a bit of a pain.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I just got a new android tablet and was please to find on set up that when I logged in to my Google account I was given the option of installing all my apps from my android phone, very handy.

I have also downloaded 'app backup and restore' though haven't used it yet, it is meant to keep a record of the apps use have on removable storage or a PC so that you can easily fee install when doing factory reset etc.
