While DEFRA & RSPB
blimey AB is too quick for me

to cont: most landlowners/farmers have shotgun licences. To be fair it would be only winter to cull maraudering birds. A shot into a roosting tree soon sorts it.

All very well if I build a wall half the country is ask do they have any objection ,jolly old farmer ,crow scarer ,mucks up the roads ,smell the air with manure .Stands around in ill fitting trousers and talks gibberish .thought most of the stuff was grown by the big companies .try listening to the noise day in day and and your sympamy soon wains.I know lots of farmers and they are a law on to them selves ,ignorant at least .in an ideal world jolly farmer is the jovial guy in reality he's a lot different.
You forgot to mention that farmers put food on your table, weecalf.

weecalf, if you live in the country, surely you expect these things? All the farms I've lived near through my life have been smelly and occasionally noisy and cow-pooey. Farms are like that, there are few enough of them left these days. It's called Countryside.
I do live with bird scarers on my doorstep. I don't hear them in the house, only when I'm outside.

If you hate the countryside so much weecalf, maybe you should move to a town or city.

I hear they are very quite places.
I've just spent all day discharging shotguns into trees Scrivens - and lived to tell about it.....
No permit, so far as I know, but I'm sure a regulation was introduced to stop the devices being used at night. Pretty pointless, to do so anyway. Nocturnal corvids are a rarity!

We don't use them here. It may be that the fashion has changed.
They are also used to deter browsers, especially deer, which are active at night.

weecalf says they stop when it gets dark.... that makes sense.
hey shoota, statue near my oak ;)
Ah, weecalf, feeding you comes at a price!

Ill-fitting trousers, talk gibberish ? Yes, that's us ! We rarely have any problem building, since our buildings, such as silos, are needed for the business. Your wall isn't. But if you get objections, it's a pound to a penny that the objectors will be town people who have moved to the country. On our Parish Council. I never object to anything, but the ex-town members object to everything
Is there a typo in there somewhere Tambo or am I as thick as I sometimes suspect?
nah. just me being brief. (is that you) lol
