Hope some one can help

I have a ford c-max 2ltr deisel 2003 and I need a new battery .
but the battery size is 278mm X 175mm X 175mm

but alot of the heaverier duty batteries are upto 310mm long
but the battery sits in a plastic box and I dont want to buy one that wont fit !

from what i can see 680cca and 72 amp hours is standard
well I'd like to boost that up as much as possible without having to remove the battery box ?

any ideas or suggestions ? I dont have the oppertunity to try before buying so I need to get it right first time
cheers Mark

I presume it's a 096 Battery

Halfords have an 80AH

It's 278mm but deeper at 190mm do you have an extra couple of cm in depth?

To be honest Jake Im not sure if that will fit
reading on a forum the same car has a different battery fitted as standard in colder countrys but I can tell if a different size or just different ratings
well all the 80AH versions of the 096 I can see are 190mm deep

It is possible that the battery tray is slightly wider in those coutries to accomodate the higher capacity battery

well after a lot of expense an awful lot of jump starting a new battery and still nothing , it finally turned out to be a the starter motor , for some reason it was only drawing 9 volts ! new one fitted and jobs done ! starts first time straight away , thank you !
Oh sorry to hear that

Sometimes a dying starter motor will drain a battery so much as to cripple it so you may have needed that battery anyway
