I don't think you should follow the link. Go in the usual way to the account.
I've had that message and treated it as Junk - and my payPal account has suffered no damage.
Just ignore it as they will come back if they really have a problem ,which itself will become apparent when you try to use paypal But never give that info never never

Delete it - I once made a large payment on Paypal (unusual for me) and the phone rang a few minutes later, it was Paypal checking that it was actually me that made the payment.
If they want to get in touch, they will phone. Yours sounds like a scam.
Have you actually made any unusual purchases?
do NOT open link...obvious scam
100% certain its a scam...bellow was the clue !
needawin, when you say you've tried logging in, do you mean via the link, or your usual way of logging in?
Unless they addressed you by your actual name (not email address) then it is definitely a scam.

witout even opening this q I knew the answer was going to be yes!
Another scammy variation is pretending your card is out of date and ..............
I have a few of these every week.
I had so many at one time that I re-did my paypal account and set it up with a new e-mail address that no-one else knows, and i keep it just for paypal and nothing else.
Any paypal messages that I get on my usual e-mail acc, I now know are definately false, and just get deleted straight away. X
it's a scam. I get one of these almost every day. spelling and grammar give it away, apart from the fact that it's obviously a scam!
