Can anyone advise in simple terms how to get a photo on AB with my question.

You would have to register with a website like photobucket and upload the photo to there, then you can post a link to it in your question.

1. Upload your photo to http://www.tinypic.com
2. Copy and paste a link into your post on AnswerBank.
3. Choose the shortest of the offered links.
Extra instructions:
4. Use Snipping Tool to isolate picture.
5. Give the picture a name and file it in Photo Gallery.
6. Go to tinypic [as in 1 above].
7. Follow instructions on how to upload picture.
8. Make a note of the link for email and IM.
9. Go to AnswerBank and enter the link into Post a Reply box.

These instructions worked in April 2011, so I assume/hope that they still work.

....unless you mean an avatar picture to appear over your name. There's a separate process for that
