Can someone be a love and pass me the Dementure tablets please, x
Very interesting Cailin. I fell for it all!
That was good, thanks.
I knew the Russian Revolution, King George and hundred years war questions. I didn't know the others though.
I didn't fail. I knew most of them.
I didn't know about the squirrel hair, but I knew the others :-)
Sorry to say but the Canary Islands are in the Atlantic. I'll get me coat
No, passed, just.

But on those I got wrong they were all, "I don't know but certainly not ....."
Are ther Canary Islands in the Pacific too?
Back in 2007 only 3 correct were needed to pass.

The first time I saw this quiz was 30-plus years ago in Reader's Digest.
oooops! - that link was from way back in 2011. I mixed up the date with this post.

Didn't know that George VI 's first name was Albert. He was called David at home, wasn't he? Confusing. The rest I knew, but I should get out more, and not have a history of pub quizzes !
And there must be another Canary Islands! Put you coat back. They are in the Atlantic, and the name comes ultimately from the Latin for dogs, canes ("Kah-nays")
Fred, I think his brother King Edward the 8th was known as David, though his names were Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David.

George the 6th was known as Bertie, though his names were Albert Frederick Arthur George.

He chose to be King George because Albert was considered a bit too German for the times.
