Is it a man thing - my husband sits and flicks through all the channels, watching perhaps up to 5 to 10 mins of each programme, sometimes nothing, and looks to be totally engrossed, - and then just switches off!!! What a total waste of time.

Do what I did, Jamesnan.......acquire a second remote control without telling him....keep it hidden down the side of the chair and press any old button ten seconds after he has....totally confuses them... :-) x

Yup. Next!
If he's like me, he'll be recording things as well, in the naive belief that he will watch later and not be bored after 10 minutes and press 'Delete'
Defo mans thing mine does exacly the same.....grrrr
Yes, a man thing, Mr S does it, really irritating. X
take the batteries out when he's not looking ;)
If I wasn't addicted to AB, OH would be very unhappy
I always feel the need to switch over when an advert comes on

Not for me. I HATE that way of "watching" TV. Choose the progs to watch from Radio Times, watch them and turn TV off the rest of the time.
I finally settle on a BBC channel, then red button it for the news and sport.
not in this house. Dad knows his place - mum holds the remote (she doesn't channel surf either). In the morning before I get up he usually has sport or something on, he hears me..News goes on. He doesn't channel surf either I'm afraid.
