Do the presenters actually find the properties, or is there a team which do? My partner gets quite annoyed sometimes as the properties are sometimes entirely different to what is asked for and gets annoyed with the presenter!!!

I sometimes wonder how much research goes into these programmes. Often the presenters can't even pronounce the village or town they are in. Another thing; the clients say require a house within a reasonable distance from the motorway so they can get to work etc. They then find they're offered a property where they need to drive for over half an hour before they...

Clearly your partner has too much time on his/her hands
I love it but I wouldn't have thought that the presenters have anything to do with choosing the properties. Escape isn't so bad but occasionally the buyers on Location Location are so awful they don't deserve to be helped imo.
They have researchers, working for the production company, who find the properties; it would be a bit embarrassing if the properties were sold before the camera crew turned up; and the properties are chosen as much for the entertainment and education of the viewers as for their chances of being of interest to the people on the programme. Good and bad reactions by them are a part of the entertainment .

Otherwise, it's just like real life. Countless estate agents have the knack of showing you properties which are almost the exact opposite of what you've asked for, and at too high a price !
lol as if the presenters ring estate agents and trawl rightmove to find houses - they are presenters - the clue is in the job name.
"Do the presenters actually find the properties"

No.

"or is there a team which do? "

Do you think Martin Roberts goes looking for abandoned properties himself for 'Homes Under The Hammer'? No. He'd be far too worried about getting his beige chinos dirty!

It would be interesting to know the percentage of people that actually finish up buying a house that they had been shown in the programme.
me and husband used to say the same thing about relocationx3 - the set up was ostensibly for people to buy 2 properties (a city crash pad and home in the country usually) but i don't think i EVER saw a programme where they did actually buy 2.
I don't think I've *ever* watched one of these programs and someone's bought. Half the time I reckon they just drag two people from the streets.

it's like those "move to australia/europe/florida" programmes - i swear people only go on them for the holiday. The australia ones particularly - there is always i 1 person in the family who doesn't want to go, and then they say something like "well, i couldn't leave my family". If you knew that, why even go on!!!!!
Some people will do anything to get on tv, like this odious man

Bednobs - I have that Wanted Down Under show, I call it split the family as there is always someone, at least, who is breaking their heart.
They cause all that heartache & then decide not to go.
I am sure a lot of them are 'extras' - there was a man on Escape who was going to buy a Karaoke bar in Spain - next thing he was in the 'audience' for the programme on after Big Brother.
