Wifi Connection Keeps Scanning, Connecting Then Disconnecting, Anyone Help?

I have a 2.3 google android tablet and I connect by wifi using my BTHub 3 and it has been working great since I got it but for the last month when I try to get online the wifi just says scanning, connecting, disconnecting over and over, I tried again tonight for hours and it suddenly connected but when I disconnected and tried to get back online again it just kept saying scanning, connecting, disconnecting.
It shows the BTHub3-5WHJ with a WPA/WPA2 PSK but there is a lock sign over the signal, why could I connect finally tonight and then not again.
Can anyone tell me how to sort this?

Have you tried power off/on of the BT Hub?

Yes, but it makes no difference, I think the tablet is the problem not the Hub, as my wifi connection if working on my laptop, the problem only seems to be on the tablet.
OK, Have you tried deleting the WiFi profile on the Tablet, restarting and then try
creating a new connection?

Yes I tried that several time too but still doing the same thing.
I guess you already did the following to create the connection manually rather than attempting to select from a list of networks, but just to check, I presume that when recreating the network manually you did:

1. In the Wi-Fi settings screen, touch Add Wi-Fi network (at the bottom of the list of discovered networks).
2. Enter the SSID (name) of the network. If the network is secured, touch the
Security menu and then touch the type of security deployed on the network. If there is an option to set the Security encryption as either AES or TKIP make sure it matches whatever the BT HUb is set to, which is usually displayed on the Hub label along with SSID + Password as per initial default BT Setup install.
3 Enter any required security credentials. Check that the password and SSID network name text characters match exactly with the required BT HUb settings, including any Upper/Lower case characters. If not already done, I would double check with the settings that on your laptop that connect ok.
5 Touch Save.

A few more thoughts,

Is the BT HUB Wifi set to Broadcast the SSID or is it in Hidden/Non-Broadcast mode. If it is hidden, if possible try setting to to Broadcast?

Is there any MAC address filtering operating on the BT Hub?

Does the BT Hub employ a 'pairing' period which is usually 5 to 10 mins following a power-on i.e. connect a wifi device within that period as an additional security feature?

All good suggestions from Pinkboyid but another possibility is interference on the channel which your Home Hub is using. That could come about because one of your neighbours has a router using the same frequency or simply from spurious radiation generated by something like your printer. (If you don't believe that printers generate loads of radio frequency energy, just try putting a portable radio next to one!).

So my suggestion is therefore to change the channel:

Tried what you suggested Buenchico but it made no difference still not connecting to BTHub also already done what you said Pinkyboyid, anyone any other ideas.
Have you checked to see if there are there operating system updates available for your Android Tablet that you could try installing?
Some more thoughts,
I notice in the Android User Guide 2.3.4 (assuming it is the one that is for your system version) that there are some other WiFi settings to do with sharing data as a portable WiFi Hotspot. If this feature is switched on then it also has some settings for setting up SSID / Security type / password, which if I understand it correctly also does scanning for wifi networks.

If not already, its worth checking if disabled, if only to eliminate any possible conflicts.

Padlock icon still showing on BTHub3-5WHJ, just keeps saying Disabled, Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK
It might be worth a trip to McDonald's, Wetherspoon's or anywhere else that offers free wi-fi, to see if you can maintain a connection there. If you can't there's clearly a problem with your tablet, rather than with the connection to your BT Hub. Similarly, are you able to connect other devices to your Hub (to rule out a fault with it)?

Seems to indicate that to ensure that the Android system 'forgets' a deleted wifi profile, move out of wifi router range then perform a wifi network profile delete.

Also, I presume that there are a number of wifi Security type options available in the setup process beside wpa/psk. i.e. does it have a wpa option, or a wpa2. If not already, try testing with each type in turn.
