Not sure if my snowdrops are out or not, they're still covered in 6" of snow.
yup, I've got snowdrops on my front garden, daffs up in the back garden and the buds on the camellias are huge. About blooming time too.
Woodland here is full of snowdrops. There's also a large spread of aconites, but not as big as in the past. However, local gardens have acquired aconites, all in recent years. Doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to work out where these came from; the patches in the wood which are now bare of aconites are nearest the houses !
camellias starting to loose their petals. too much rain and wind, but snowdrops and daffs look lovely.
Not here it isn't...
Mine arent, Daffs are pushing up though.
Phrases like 'a false dawn' or 'the calm before the storm' seem to come to mind here. I predict (based upon nothing more than gut instinct and natural pessimism) that, despite the current brief mild spell, we'll all be snowed in throughout much of February.
Chris, i think that you are right and we haven't seen the last of the bad weather even in the south. The ponies still look like teddy bears.
