What a wasted opportunity, I was looking forward to an account of the life of Le Dame de fer and all we got was, "she's going senile hammerred" home at us. Yes lots of old people suffer the same, accept it and tell the meat of the story. I cannot claim credit for this account from IMDB but it sums up the movie very well:
"dementia dementia dementia ghost dementia marriage dementia dementia ghost irakillspolitician, why? dementia dementia dementia makeover dementia ghost shewontlistentoanyoneaboutthefalklands, why? dementia dementia dementia ghost ghost herhotelroomisbombed, why? ementia dementia dementia denentia horridtaxtobepaidbytherichandpoorinequalmeasure, why? dementia dementia ghost gone. "
Wasn't made by Arthur Scargill was it?

I started to watch it, but after about half and hour I gave up. Not because I thought the film was bad in any way (Meryl Streep was superb) but because I found myself feeling sorry for the woman - and as a miners daughter, I couldn't have that!
having seen a number of trailers decided to give it a miss. Sure Meryl Streep was brilliant, but honestly why did they have to start with her later years.
have yet to watch the film..but although I did not agree with much of her political leanings I do admire her for the Argentine affair..she was strong resolute and determined..to the conclusion...a strong woman ..a great pity how her heath has deteriorated...irrespective of politics she deserves respect and gratitude...
i agree, and quite frankly the pygmies that are in office now are a waste of space, time.
em they are like a namby pamby Lily livered toddler's group.. imho...
decisions, then backtrack, more decisions, then more backtracking, hard to keep up with it. I heard on the news that the decisions about child benefit, which will hit many, and no i don't understand why someone will lose all if they are a single household with over 60k yet two people earning 50k won't, will likely be supplemented by help with child costs, what the fecking hell are they playing at.
they don't think things through..a normal member of the public..ie someone in the real world ought to be on the cabinet carda....
la dame even..
I didn't expect to enjoy the film, even though I admired MT, but thought it was brilliant and well portrayed by Streep.
