I have only just read that Lord Oaksey has died. I've had many pleasant conversations with him. His opinion of the greatest racehorse ever - Arkle. A grand old man. He and his wife were regularly found manning the Injured Jockeys Fund stand at Cheltenham race course. RIP

I remember he did a bungee jump on television for charity, probably the Injured Jockeys Fund. The chap fitting the harness suggested he might like to leap backwards if he didn't like the look of the drop.
The look Oaksey gave him was priceless.
