OK - who has THE definitive cure for this crippling condition? Please!
After a 30 year lapse, I woke on Wednesday morning with a huge dose in my left foot/ankle. Where the hell did that come from so suddenly? GP has me on Colchochine (?) but I'll try any miracle cure suggestions from fellow sufferers.....please!
Thanks

Go to your doctor and ask for Allupurinol which you will take for the rest of your life. It prevents the formation of uric acid crystals but is useless for relieving pain in an acute attack.

For the acute attack I agree with your doctor re Colchicine.
Hi Trix,I have suffered in the past with gout, very painful as you have found out. As sqad says, see your doctor,I am on Allopurinal 100mg a day tablet and have had no problems since I started on them. However I always have a supply of Colchicine tabs available in case I do get an acute attack.
Elderly friend swears by tins of black cherries - worth a try??
My OH takes Allopurinol, it really does work.
