I switched my computer on about an hour ago and instead of going to my usual home page I got a full page BT Advert!!?? I just couldn't get rid of it. I tried to go to the ANswerbank to ask for help, and not only did the advert appea again, it changed my little aserbank bookmark logo to a BT logo. Same thing was happening to ALL my bookmarks. OH had a play around with it and found that the firewall was off. We installed a new hub the other day after our old one "collapsed". Do you think it's anything to do with that? It seems to be OK now. I have the little AB logo back so I want to try everything else, but I'm rather apprehensive. Any ideas please?

Sounds a little as if your computer was connecting to a BT wireless hot spot as opposed to your home wireless and you were getting the hotspots logon page. If you check for available wireless networks do you see any BT ones, if so try to connect to it and see if you get the same thing, you can always switch back to your home network at any time.

Thank you so much for your reply. I couldn't answer earlier as I lost the connection AGAIN. I am not in the LEAST au fait with I.T. I'm afraid. I couldn't even come on here to see if I had a reply! I telephoned a friend who suggested right click on the little TV symbol to look at available network connections! It had connected itself to BT FON whatever that is. Could I get it connected back to mine? Could I heck!!! Grrrrrr But thank you. Let's hope it's OK now.
