Hi, received an email message yesterday from 'Santander' suggesting for security, I would have to register some details and should I ignore their request, future logging on would be blocked. Obviously not genuine. There were 5 spelling/grammar errors in the 4 line message. Don't even have any accounts with them now!!

Wupps, sorry wrong section, although useful to know anyway.
I would ignore them and delete their e-maiil . But in future, if you send chain e-mails do them individually rather than all together that way no-one in the block can access your e-mail address and send it on to people you do not know. Do not give any personal information on the computer or even on the telephone, ask the person to put it in writing and send it to you in the royal mail post. Hope this information helps you :)
forward that e mail to phishing scam @ santander i have had them before thats what they advised me do never enter bank details if you are not sure who the sender is
A friend of mine with caller ID now when he see's a call centre number answers his phone with Hello Det Sgt Cook how can I help you...They can't ring of fast enough...
In addition to last comment if you ask them how they got your number - that gets rid of them pretty quick too....
