Do you know if you have definitely had any or are you just 'flying a kite'?
Getting a copy of your credit record may give you some clues

Otherwise it's a question of relying on your own records. If they are solely your memory you may well be stuck.

how do I find out my credit record?
You can get a free trial with someone like Experian or Equifax. (Just Google credit file) or you can apply to them for a one-off copy for a nominal charge.
Are you pretty sure you've had any PPI?

I think all these radio/TV ads for PPI and all the cold-callers are guilty of raising false expectations for many people.
