I think I have some thing horrid on my plants. It looks white and fluffy - a bit like an aphid with white fur and a little tale - is it scale? If so what can I use to shift it - never had it before in ten years of growing orchids - please help.

Having looked again, we think it's mealy bugs! What can I use?
Go to your local garden centre or even DIY store and pick up any one of the bug sprays that kills mealy bug. Loads available and all work well.
I have actually used vodka on an earbud. Make sure you only touch the mealy bug though. Plants dont like vodka. You will have to keep vigilant too in case the young ones are too small or too well hidden. Repeating may be needed.....

Or you could go to the garden centre ;))
