New mobile phone HTC - getting stressed!

Hi - I bought a new mobile this week, replacing an ancient PAYG Siemens CL75 model I have had for years. Wanted a QWERTY keyboard, and had some birthday money so splashed out on all singing all dancing HTC Cha Cha phone. Was it worth it ?- I have been SO stressed, the cocky little yuppie who served me didn't take into account my age or experience with new technology! I should have walked out but was embarrassed to, as was in the shop for an hour and half! Have had to struggle all week learning how to use it with the help of my brother. I am finally learning how to use it a bit better but its SO complicated - how do youngsters with "below average intelligence" manage - and they all seem to! Does anyone else have this phone if I ever need help please - I can ring the HTC helpline but they are foreign (as usual) and I have trouble understanding them.. I'm not good with instruction manuals either, I like to be talked through problems and write myself an "idiot guide!"

Do I take it, by your silence, that nobody has one of these phones? Or perhaps you maybe didn't see my post?
Go back to the shop and ask someone to help you - that's what they are there for. This is poor customer service - but you do have to say that you need help.
The youngsters manage because they don't know anything different, it's become second nature to them.
Go back tomorrow....
If you ask specific questions relating to your difficulties other HTC owners may be able to help. I think they all operate basically the same way. My Wildfire is the same as the Desire.
I have an HTC Desire S, I have no idea whether it is similar to your model though so I don't know if i'd be of much help.
I also have a Wildfire and did find it quite hard at first, just because it was different from my last phone. But I actually do like it. Good luck.

Thanks everyone! I am slowly getting to grips with it after ringing half the people in my contact list several times by mistake!!! O dear talk about flustered!! The touch screen is SO sensitive! But now I have bought a little stylus stick thingy from Poundland with a tip made of felt and its much better to use. One question I have is - on my home page I have somehow managed to get an icon (messages) hiding behind the apps button on the bottom right of my screen. It pokes out a tiny bit so I try to drag it out to put elsewhere but it will not budge! I have another messages icon in another place on the screen so I want to erase the hidden one but can't get near it to erase - any ideas please?
So much for me saying they are all more or less the same, the Wildfire allows 8 icons and says the home screen is full if you try to put more. So there would be no hidden icons.
All I can suggest is you personalize your home screen again and this may clear it.

This youtube video I found may help.

Good luck
