Yep. And equally more chance that he's known to the family. In the last year or so I've worked for my consultant, only ONE case has the alleged perpetrator been a stranger.

If what they had done to them (if they are actually telling the truth and it's not just a story to justify their actions) was so bad why would they want to inflict the same suffering on another child?

May I just jump in......bear in mind I have only just read page one!
my first point is that the word "gay" has not changed it's meaning, it has however developed ANOTHER meaning over time. All other uses of the word are still valid and are indeed listed in the dictionary.

Paedophile never actually HAD a meaning before...it was never used. It is just two greek words put together for the purpose today of describing persons with a sexual interest in children. There never ever was a greek paedophile that just loved kids in an innocent way (with this word)! It is entirely a word used to describe a sexual interest despite the obvious roots of the word just meaning child and love.

Joe - In some cases it's all they know. They've been abused all of their life. To them it's completely normal. They grow believing that all kids have sex with their dads/brothers/uncles/friends of the family. They are more likely to offend...

Others realise how wrong it is and break the cycle...

Some will lie about their own abuse....but most don't. There tends to be a pattern abusers follow. You see the same type of thing coming up over and over again.
