You know how it is, the more you think about something, the more difficult the problem becomes, but then it's usually something really simple!
I'm here in France, with my old style 1 tuner Sky Box, a jvc tv, and a philips vcr/dvd recorder. The aerial wire comes into the sky box from the dish. Scart cable comes out of that box into the dvd and another scart comes out from the dvd into the tv's ext2 socket. It's been fine for the past year.
On the dvd's remote one can select setup, timer etc. and up pops the menu on the tv screen, and also on the lcd display on the dvd itself to say it's in menu mode.
Now, when l do this, nothing appears on the tv screen at all.
I've even got the handbook in front of me, which is next to useless.
"Switch the dvd on, make sure the correct channel is selected (doh, it can only be ext2) and select setup. The system menu will appear on the tv screen".
Oh no it doesn't!
By the way, the tv is working fine. All channels can be selected via the sky remote handset. Also, if l insert a dvd disc it also plays fine, so the connections are all there, so why no menu screen appearing?
I'm going to have another mess around with it tomorrow, who knows, will possibly solve it but l'm getting a bit brain dead at the moment.
Any suggestions welcomed.
