ena - I was like that with porridge. I refused to eat it as a child and was past 40 before I realised that it was quite nice. I like it sweet tasting.

As school children in the midst of winter, we always enjoyed father's home made porridge with about a tblspn of salt in it. He and Big Sis adorned theirs with Fowlers Black Treacle but I prefered Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup. Over the decades I have lost my sweet tooth and never buy sugar these days.
