Can't find anything that shows the location, but it looks like this

And would appear to be next to the windscreen washer filler...

out of interest what year is this vehicle? many later vehicles now have electric power steering...also why do you think it needs it if you dont know where it is to check the level...

2000... has a slow leak... had it refilled a while ago but didn't take much notice of where it went. steering is making a grinding noise. need to do it before any damage is done. will get it booked in garage and fixed, but need to do this first.

Thanks ChuckFickens, that picture shows me exactly where it is. I thought it was about there but wasn't sure. Will go out and do it now. Cheers...
Be aware where you take the car for repair Mumsie! do not go to your local dealer or K.Fit, use your local family garage unless you have plenty of ££££££££££££££.

Thanks for that info TWR. I have an old family friend who has his own garage for repairs. I always take my car to him when I get any problems. So I guess a visit to him will be on the cards.:-(
when we were refurbing these vehicles a few years ago i remember the p/s pump was a common problem..
