Am toying with the idea of obtaining a treadmill. Can anyone on AB give me advice and also what type, price ect. I would like to remind you that I am 78 yrs. old
with Diabetes, but am quite healthy and try to walk at least 3 miles a day. I know that sounds to be sufficient, but there are days when one cannot spare the time or the weather is inclement.I would stress that I am only thinking about this.

Thankyou all Danny.

pixi, thanks for your reply, I have looked on the web and I should thionk that a basic one should suffice. By that I mean one that gives the basic info. ie. distance speed ect. but, I dont realy know.
Will you use it though? I had one and never used it, though now I go to the gym I use one there. Same with my exercise bike and abs machine I have had over the years!
I bought a treadmill a couple of years ago...............look on the Argos website, they give full descriptions of each one and often have really good offers on.
I'd say look on Freecycle. it's the kind of thing that pops up from time to time in my area.
Try your local JJB Sports store. They should (Ha ha) give you a full demonstration and let you try them out.

There's two different types - manual incline and electronic incline. The manual incline is only a few degrees of steepness. The electronic versions can go to 10 or 12 degrees and can get up to 12mph. The motirised versions are a lot bigger, so you may want to take that into consideration when locating it.

You'll also want someone to give you a hand to put it together.
You need one that You will be able to move or fold should You ever have to so check the weight of it and also how it folds. Ours was really heavy..
Just to let you know my views on this one, I have had a non motorised treadmill for years and it has hardly been used, apart from hanging washing on :). I can walk for miles outside on flat ground, but because of the incline on this treadmill, obviously needed to get some motion going, even on the flattest incline allowed, I still find that it causes pain in my calf muscles and I cannot walk for any longer than 5 mins at the most, it is also very heavy and takes up a lot of room, even in the folded up position. So if you decide to get one, if finances will allow as these are more expensive, maybe look at a motorised version and check out the weight and size. Good for you in wanting to stay active and healthy.
Mine is a very large motorised one...........it's in the garage.
