Just over half an hour to go and I can have a packet of crisps! Gave them up for Lent as they are my weakness but, contrary to popular belief, they can't be that bad for you as I haven't lost an ounce!

Awww that's a swizz then...give up something else next year, it might make a difference lol.
All very well giving them up for Lent, but did you put the money you would otherwise have spent on them in the poor box?
Which flavour will it be pips?

No Mike but that's a good idea, I'll add it up and then at least some good will come of it.
I once knew a priest, who later became a suffragan bishop, an inveterate chain-smoker who always gave up the cigs for Lent. After the first Eucharist of Easter Sunday he was as high as a kite!

haha I can imagine. I will be having lightly salted kettle chips maidup.
Good choice - enjoy. I recommend the Black Pepper ones for tomorrow.
I too have given up crisps for lent (with only a small relapse)

I intend to continue to avoid them, not for calorie reasons, but due to the salt.

Ah but they do unsalted ones Hopkirk, having said that I am not going to eat as many as I did.
What is the point of unsalted crisps? You might as well toast a corn flake packet and cut it up into mouth sized pieces.
Hopkirk, that's Ryvita
Oh yes, Sorry.
When you say crisps what does that include pips, I had a friend who gave up crisps for Lent but ate mini cheddars, doritos and any other crisp-y snack that wasn't made of potatoes I thought she was cheating!
Agreed Sophie - although mini cheddars are more biscuity aren't they?
Question Author
I just gave up crisps Sophie as I was having too many, I did have a couple of small bags of mini chedders but nothing else as I felt guilty.
If she had normal cheddars then yes they are biscuits, mini cheddars (in my opinion) are a crisp replacement and as such should be given up during Lent (if the idea is to stop eating crisps), I'm not so sure where I stand on Snack a Jacks!
I'm OK if I have none, but once you pop you can't stop*

* as a certain designer crisp in a tube claims.
Will let you off a couple pips lol, to be honest it was the Doritos that I was really insistent on; how anyone can say they're not included in the crisp category is beyond me!
Designer crisp, hahaha, would flavours include Salt and Versace or Jimmy Choos and Onion?
Wolverhampton Wanderers used to be sponsored by Doritos when they were in the Championship.

The Baggies said it stood for Division One Rubbish in Tatty Orange Shirts.
