I'm pretty sure it is any time they are open now - I remember in the past when they had to adhere to certain hours, the alcohol aisle being blocked off, but that doesn't happen now.

could be wrong but I don't think so.
The supermarkets can apply for 24 hour licences - and is successful they can sell it any time they are open.

However, some supermarkets have restricted alcohol licences.
Any premises, pub, nightclub or supermarket now needs the same licence. Its called a premises licence and, simply, the hours to be kept cannot be imposed on a blanket basis for an area but are individual for the premises and the activities they provide. Some will get, if applied for, permission to sell for 24 hours, although they may choose not to use that facility and close these sales at any time, depending on whether they have shift patterns for the right staff to authorise the sales. Others may be restricted because their location makes them more susceptible to trouble or congregations of young people. Each premises is required to have a summary of its licence on display to show the maximum opening (sale) times.
