Is it safe to drink alcohol while on Flucloxacillin?

Was it QI I saw this on recently? It said there is no reason not to drink on antibiotics, the reason that advice used to be given is that a lot of antibiotics were prescribed to treat STDs and if the patient was still on the tablets they'd probably still be infectious, so they were advised not to drink so that they wouldn't get drunk and go out and infect someone else.

My mother did (wine) and no side effects.

However, dementia has set in rather fast.

i think you'll find it safe to drink alcohol with most antibiotics, what alcohol does is reduce the effectiveness of them.
