Have you eaten anything that could explain the colour?
Have you ever been diagnosed with a stomach ulcer?

My mum has an ulcer and she sometimes brings up blackish coloured vomit, her doctor said it was old blood from the ulcer.
I would have it checked immediately, does sound as if you have ulcer problems.
It could either be altered blood or bile.

<<<I am often sick at night<<<

Why?..Has a doctor checked this out?

Have you any other symptoms?....indigestion, loss of weight, abdominal pain?
Go to the doctor !

Hi, Thanks everyone.

I will go to Dr but being the weekend they don't open until Monday.

I know why I am often sick at the moment. I need an adjustment on my band but tbh this is nothing different it is the black that is worrying as this is new. I don't have any other symptoms. No pain and I haven't eaten anything that could be black. Would you have pain if you had an ulcer?

HNS direct is rubbish. The syptom checker just kept taking me round in a circle and It didn't ask enough q to get a proper answer.

Someone said it could be kidneys but I don't see how.
cassa......it is very unlikely that you have an ulcer.

You have put your finger on the cause....the tight gastric band producing what is known as ...Mallory-Weiss Syndrome (Google it).............due to straining as you vomit.

See you DR, but no urgency.
