Hi, I have been going to the same private dentist for 2 years and my son who is 8 has also (I obviously don't pay anything for him). I cannot really afford the £55 per check up for me any more and have decided to try and find a National Health dentist but the private dentist's Receptionist says that they won't allow me to keep my son on their books if I am not any more. Is that allowed? He is comfortable with the dentist he has so I am a bit annoyed that they wouldn't see him any more. Or do I just try and come up with the £55?

yes the dentist can do that. Does he see your son on the NHS or privately?

Well I don't pay for any of my sons treatment so Im guessing NHS.
I think if its NHS there is a form to sign...in any case dentists aren't like doctores, they don't have to take patients.
You can find an NHH practice that does private work .. Then you will have the choice later.
Well if you can find an NHS dentist, why not transfer you son there aswell?
