27 cuckoospit is white frothy mass on stems and leaves of many plants, produced by froghopper larvae
I've done several bird quizzes lately. Talking about birds, I used to have lots of birds in my garden but lately the only ones that visit are magpies and the occasional pigeon. I really miss my feathered friends.
What feeders do you have out?

We get all sorts blue tits sparrows (when the seagulls and pigeons don't scare them off) and some I can't remember - Grandad g is the bird watcher
We've got a sticky thread here ...

... pop in, say hi, we're trying to get a permanent topic so the more the merrier. :-)
The usual nuts, etc we've always put out and we have several shrubs with berries. Perhaps an increase in the amount of cats is scaring them off!! What kind of food do you recommend, please? Also, we had to cut down two trees lately so the birds might not feel so secure?
I have feeders with mixed seed, sunflower seed, nyger seed and a fatball feeder. We get loads of different birds ... if you've made the garden very 'open by cutting trees, it might deter them briefly, but they shouldn't stay away long ...

Cats might be a problem, but not usually a big enough one to put off hungry birds.
I'll try your suggestions , NazNomad. thank you.
