protein shakes

after a work out at the gym I sometimes have a protein shake but two or three hours later i get diarrhoea so have stopped drinking it any ideas why this should happen?

Do they put a lot if fibre in it?
What type of shake? Whey? Casein? Help? Pea? Egg powder? There's many out there! Is there a certain brand and whats the ingredient profile?

well these particular ones i brought from sainsburys so not to sure as have drunk them now and thrown away the bottles, but any protein shake seems to have the same affect on me
The ones you usually buy from supermarkets are milk protein so maybe they just run through you. maybe if you had some fats or fibre in there or mixed with it to slow digestion then you may avoid the problem you have. Im not sure what your goals are though so I can't recommend anything yet. Are you trying to put on weight or lose weight?
