My sister in law has a 2001 Renault Clio. For some reason when you put the key into the ignition and turn it the car will not start. It is trying to start but doesn't. Beside the spedometer there is a fast flashing LED between the words Stop and Serv. Usually this light will go out and the car will start but it hasn't done for the past few days. I was told that it may be a problem with the key. I put a new battery in the key but it didn't help. Does anyone know if the problem is most likely the key or could it be something else?

Sounds like an immobiliser problem.

I've looked but I cannot see an immobilisor anywhere. Is there any way to reset it, or where is it?

And if Toureman thinks that AB is so useless compared to his beloved Renaultforums why does he bother using this site?

ABerrant, that looks to be exactly the problem? Surely there must be a way to sort it out if I have the correct key.
