Hi all.
Two weeks ago I stupidly stubbed my toe. It was extremely painful. It became very swollen and bruised. It was so swollen and painfull that I didnt move it (although I think I could of done(?) When the swelling came down a bit, I could move it although very painful. Now 2 weeks on, its still very painfull and still a bit swolllen. Does this sound normal for bruising, or, if there is a chance it was broken, will it just heal in its own time. Its just it seems to be getting worse instead of better!
Thanks x

Sounds normal for bruising to me.
Even if it was broken, confirmed by X-Ray there probably wouldn´t be any treatment.

Ibuprofen 600mgms twice a day should settle it.

Thanks for that Squad.
Many years ago I mashed the end of my second toe playing soccer barefoot. It was sore and sensitive for several years but eventually settled down. However it healed with somewhat of a club end. The nail bed was also damaged and the nail grows in a very weird curve that covers the end of the toe completely if left to grow.
I read a thing in the paper the other week about someone who 'died of a broken toe'! Sorry not meaning to scare you but I took interest cause my aunt had just broken hers. She had went to the hospital and was told to go back for a follow up appointment and never then died of a blood clot - just felt I should mention it incase you should perhaps get it checked out if you feel it is getting worse.
