I have some old pine furniture in my bedroom, and would like to update it by painting etc. Does anyone have any ideas or tips as to the best method to go about this.

For a really up to date shabby chic look first wipe down with esp (every surface preperation) It is a liquid which will save you having to sand etc and helps the paint adhere. Try Farrow and Balls French grey for a lovely colour and finish. Good luck

You'll need to sand the furniture down slightly, wipe down with a damp cloth then apply an undercoat then the colour of your choice.
I revived my pine furniture but rather than paint it I applied antique pine varnish. It looks as good as new.
