Hello all,

England captain Rio Ferdinand is set to miss out on the World Cup after suffering a knee injury during training today.

Michael Dawson looks ready to fly out to South Africa to fill the team sheet, but we will be without one of England's most experienced defenders for the World Cup.

Does this mean Steve Gerrard will take the armband?

It also looks like Chelsea's Didier Drogba will be missing out on the tournament after apparently fracturing a bone in a friendly match against Japan.

Fingers crossed no other England players pick any niggles up during training!

Agree completely Ed, the more fully fit players who can last the whole tournament the better as it's every man to the pumps so to speak.
ferdinand collided with the clumsy oaf heskey-who shouldnt be there
stevie g for captain
did drogbas injury affect his dive
Ferinand is one of our most over rated players there is, he really is a overpaid pansy, how he's conned the football world this far is to his credit, send him home and let's move on.
