Many years ago I used to be on CB. My handle was Whiskey Lady. Anyone on here been on it? Did used to do a lot of dxing.Got caught using a burner up the Beacon Hill In Leicestershire. Got fined £25 and that was a lot of money then.

Doc don't call them silly toys they were out pride and joy then. I did a radio ham course but didn't go ahead with it as a hobby .Too expensive in them days Did manage to afford a harrier cbx.It was the kids that used to spoil it for us with there on the side comments.

LOL Doc, I expect someone who wouldve used cutting edge comms would snort a bit at CB. They did have their uses, I remember when the hunt was on for the Yorkshire Ripper, CB users in the local area were using their radios to pass information if they saw anything suspicious.

Sorry Wen, I was one of those kids who spoilt it for the rest as an immature 14 year old! I did actually get back into it in the early 90s when I was a van driver. All the lorry drivers at work put rigs in their trucks. I had HGV envy and didnt want to miss out. Whippy aerial the whole works. My handle was Roadstone in my trucking days!

Had a 2 channel handset but could speak to loads of local "breakers".

I had one but it was a bit like texting - we all seemed to have one where I lived. I got mine bought for me by my policeman father (my parents were divorced and I knew how to play the system). There was even a CB social club thing that I used to go to. That brings back memories.
