All my music files on Windows and Real Player have all gone haywire ,almost all of the tracks have doubled ie 2 of each track ,is there a way that this can be sorted without loosing all of my music.

Thank you /

Do the two files of each tune have the same ending??
I think most Real Player files end in .ra whereas windows will play most other file types.
If the two tunes have different endings (say .ra and .wav) when in Real Player, highlight all the .wav files and then remove them by using Control and X together.
This will cut them out of Real Player and save them to the Clipboard. You can then copy them from the clipboard into any other folder you wish so that you do not lose them.
You could then perform a similar operation in Windows and cut out all the .ra files.
Try it with only one tune first as a test run.
Hope this helps.
When you highlight the separate tunes, hold down the Control key and highlight the individual files using the left mouse button.
Did the duplication happen at one particular time? If so the files may all have a recent creation date. Try sorting the files by date and see if that separates out the copies from the rest.

Other possibility is to display the files as icons and size the window so that the various files line up as two columns. You can then lasso one set of the files and move them as suggested by Wak.

I'm not sure about lassoing icons as suggested by Dundurn but could you not go into Windows Explorer, find the folder holding the music files, then Highlight the ones with the file ending that you do not want and delete them as I suggested in my first reply?
