Quinine Tablets from your GP
Do you mean "cramp" at rest OR "cramp" after walking?
Or drink bitter lemon (on it's own or with gin... nice!!). It has quinine in it.

Hey sqad - you weren't long at the accountants.... has mrs s spent it all?!
salla...no...hadn't produced some bloody inconsequential(sp) receipt.
Can't stand accountants and she is a bloody woman too.

Cramp at rest. Waking in the night with incredible pain in back of leg.
Sandy....difficult problem.

I am not sure that Quinine Sulphate is available in UK any more......effects on the heart I gather.
People have their pet remedies, but one "pays yer money and takes yer chance"
Just make sure that you drink plenty of fluid during the day, so that your urine is lightly straw coloured.....very lightly.

Thank you all, and particularly Sqad, for your answers.
Try drinking tonic water as it has quinine in it
I have this occasionally, very painful. I immediately get out of bed and put as much pressure as possible with my foot (of the affected leg) on the floor. The cramp usually stops within a few seconds.
Cut out the salt in your food.
