Can anyone recommend a free drawing program? I'm looking for something basic that can do simple shapes and diagrams.
To be honest, it's the kind of thing I used to sketch on the back of a fag packet but progress being what it is, I now have to do them 'properly'.

What about paint.net

Thank for the suggestion york, but paint.net appears to be for photo editing. Have you used it for drawing? I'll probably give it a go anyway but I posted the question in order to avoid downloading a ton software that isn't what I'm after.
Re-reading my OP I think I may have been a little vague, what I really need is something for technical drawings.

Cheers Chris, I've been meaning to look into Open Office for a while. I didn't realise it had a 'draw' function. I'll try that first & see how it goes.

Thanks again,
