What is the difference between a vase and a vase? I have heard it was the cost, but the word is spelled the same. What gives?

vayz, vorz or varz are all Victorian ways of pronouncing the same objaaaay.....a vase.

Americans say 'vaze' so I'll go for varse

PP you missed off "vaz" which is how I pronounce it.
