You are probably aware by now that I'm a A2A fan because of the amount of questions i pose on the program.
But what i find intriguing is the fact that Gene Hunt has a PC on his desk when it is in fact the early eighties?
I can never remember(showing my age) seeing PC's back then?

Never noticed that they were not that popular then though technology was gathering pace then my first mobile phone was the size of a brick
In 1986 we had one office computer and basicaly it was used for running finance stuff.

Even the Police wouldn't of had desk top Pc's in the early 80's if they existed they would have cost a fortune.
It may not be a PC as such.
It is probably a monitor for a database held in the station which as a DCI he may have access to.

I only remember back in the 80's my office getting it's first PC....I think about 1985 and everybody stood around it scratching their heads, too frightened to use it.

Gene Hunt syas of his PC-and i quote-
"Pong! It's got Pong!"
Obviously talking about tele-tennis?
The It guys in those days were known to put games and stuff onto mainframes for their own amusement...that's how most online RPG's started.

I remember the days when i got excited over tele-tennis....Great fun those early Ingersoll computers.
You wouldn't of had Pong on a PC in the 80's - they were on machines in pubs then on Spectrums, Commodores and Atari's
Since Pong was developed in 1972 it is entirely possible for a version of it to have been ported to any computer after that date.

The A2A PC is a Commodore PET. The PET CBM-3000 series was available in the UK from 1978.
