I love pork crackling but such is not able to be achieved in a slow cooker.

However, if there is rind on a piece of pork, I slice it off after cooking and then crisp it in the microwave.
If you prefer to cut it into small pieces before microwaving, it makes good pork scratchings.

Micowave for two/three minutes and if you do'nt think it's crispy enough, put in for a further minute or two. I suggest you put it into a soup dish that is covered with cling film which has been pierced in the centre; because it will be somewhat explosive whilst in the microwave.

Go on, say it;....I'm a pig of a person.!! ......Ron

Excellent Ron. I have never known crackling to be made in a microwave.

Did you choose a pancake filling?

All the best,

Spare Ed

I'm glad you recognised mccfluff that to which I admit.......I am a bit of a bore!!!!

Best wishes ....Ron
lol ron, i have an aversion to fat so i avoid crackling/ scratching s and the like, even though its looks nice, i can;t bring myself to put it in my mouth!
For some reason (being a terrible cook?) I've never been able to get good crackling, so thanks very much for the tip. :-)
Plus I'll get it all to myself because other half and son never expect any when it's my turn to cook....

mccfluff.....What you have said is a real mouthful and I respect your position in matters. My own view is that we should try to avoid as much fatty foods as possible and, irrespective of my liking for pork crackling, you are possible on a better diet than I am.... so do'nt be influenced by pigs like me!!!......Ron
Pork crackling ... we know we shouldn't, but it's sooooo yummy !

(like pork scratchings)

chelle7272....I hope I have helped to enable you to show to your family that you are a really a good cook. It's my view that you are being a bit modest about your abilities. Can you boil an egg to meet your family requirements? If so, you are a really good cook because, in my view, it's 'no joke to get the white right with soft yolk.'( Apologies for my sense of humour.).....Lol...Ron

Hi joggerjayne... Now who's the piggy......You or me.....Jogging should burn-off the excess fat.....No offence meant, but at 77 years of age I am a little too old for jogging but still enjoy a little bit of crackling !!....Ron
lol Ron, i doubt i have a healthier diet, i may hate fat on meat but i have no ojection to it in other forms i.e. butter which neatly leads to butter in cakes and cookies, which i have a fondness for .......

and cheese, i could wax lyrical but i'm not going to bore you

Good evening vibrasphere....I apologise for having failed to earlier acknowledge the 'pat on the back' which you gave to Viv and me.

We hit on the idea of 'Microwave pork crackling' in the knowledge that croutons can be made in the appliance. Consequently we thought that if pieces of garlic buttered bread can be dried and thereby crisped in the machine; why not pork rind.

Best wishes......Ron.. (Viv's lesser half.)
sorry Ron i was actually insulting vibes ala Homer simpson!

(i would leap to your defence if required though)

Thanks mccfluff for having clarified matters and it's nice to know that you are available to be my Defence Counsel if I become a 'piggy in the middle'. Hope your fees are reasonable.!!

Thanks again.....Ron
