It was a children's TV show in the 80s/90s, I think it was shown at the weekends, possibly Sunday mornings. It was a game show where a group of children travelled to their destination on a double decker bus, the destination usually being some kind of stately home/mansion. Then they would have to fulfil tasks, finding things within the house and then make it back to the bus before the time ran out and the bus disappeared. I think there was a screen in the bus which gave them their tasks to complete. They would have to speak to people they found in the house to get clues, kinda spooky as I remember it.

Please help if you can, it's driving me mad!

Thank you!

Was it the Magic School Bus?

At the end when the credits went up a (cartoon) man was on the phone explaining how things happened in the programme (I think it was an educational show) and there was a lizard that always got into trouble.

Thanks, but I don't think it was that.  It wasn't a cartoon, it was a game show.
was'nt it called here come the double deckers

No sorry, it wasn't that either.  It was definitely some kind of kids game show from the late 80s - early 90s.

I'm sure it had "Time" in the title.

If it is the one I'm thinking of, the gamesmaster was played by Micheal Troughton, son of second Doctor Who, Patrick Troughton. He wore a costume not too dis-similar to his father's Dr. Who outfit.

I'll look on his imdb entry

It was "Time Busters". 1990-92.

Oh my God I think that might be it!  Not surprising that it was made by the same people as 'Knightmare', another quality kids' programme from the 90s.

Thank you Tony, I was slowly going insane trying to find it!
