Amplifier loss of power

My television is wired into my stereo amplifier suround sound which seems to be loosing power ,I am sure the sound is much lower and I have to turn the volume much higher ,any ideas why this should happen.
How can I reverse this .

Hi there, can't help with any technical stuff, but just wondered if you have Sky and if it has been updated to the 'new look' menu screen etc? We have, and since this has happened we have to have the TV up much louder to achieve the same level of volume.

Thank you ,yes we have had Sky+ installed a month or so ago ,I shall phone and I willl post the reply ,i shall do it by the end of the week .
