I have been trying to upgrade my windows live messenger from 8.1 to 8.5 but each time I do it it won't let me sign in so I have gone back to 8.1 . I upgraded yahoo messenger to the latest one and had no problems. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm gonna guess at firewall blocking the newer version.

Disable you firewall and try again.

Shouldn't have to, it should automatically uninstall the previous version, but it won't hurt if you do uninstall it first.
